Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten why you were there? Or maybe you've started five different projects and haven't finished any of them. If this sounds like you, you're not alone!

The most important thing to understand about ADHD is that it is not laziness.

ADHD affects the brain's executive functioning skills like: getting started, staying organized, regulating emotions, managing attention, and following through on tasks.

Instead of thinking, "I need to clean the house," try:

  • Put one piece of laundry in the hamper.

  • Put one dish in the sink or dishwasher.

  • Throw away five pieces of trash.

  • Put away one pair of shoes.

  • Sweep just the kitchen floor.

Small steps may not seem like much, but they can help build momentum. Sometimes, getting started is the hardest part!
